Making an Impact in a Busy Space

Building a successful business in a crowded market place is challenging for any business owner but when you’re starting out as a new business in an established field, albeit with experience, you need a strong brand presence to cut through and get traction.

What is Home Staging?

Home staging is the art of preparing a private residence for sale in the real estate marketplace by adding furniture and decor items to ‘stage’ the home as you would a show home. The goal of staging is to make a home appealing to the highest number of potential buyers, thereby potentially selling it quicker and for more money.

HomeStaged Owner Megan Hand’s brief to the RED Design Team was to create a bold but simple logo that told her story quickly and succinctly to potential clients, all the while looking like it had been around for a while, giving a feeling of brand recognition, even though it was brand new.

Megan wanted to use an item of furniture in the logo so clients could quickly make the link between her business and the industry and the sofa also gave her logo an element of ‘comfort’ with first time visitors assuming they’d seen it somewhere else already, thereby placing her in the established business category.

So, even though the logo is simple in it’s design, the logic and principles behind it were complex and had set goals. Even the final colour choice, green, was chosen to bring the outside in and complete the staging experience.

Megan transferred these brand strengths to her website design and was so pleased with the outcome, she allowed us to showcase her brand on a promotional ECommerce site used by Redworx here in New Zealand and sister company Red Energy Promotions in Australia.
